About Rebecca (Becky) Kostyo, APRN
Rebecca has spent her entire advanced-practice career caring for orthopedic patients in Louisville. She works directly alongside Aptiva Health's orthopedic surgeons to deliver coordinated care — seeing new patients with acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, managing established patients through follow-up and post-operative care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic imaging, diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, and first-assisting in surgery.
Her clinical focus includes sports medicine and total knee and shoulder replacement. She works in close coordination with athletic trainers to get young athletes evaluated quickly, and she performs PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections and other conservative treatments that help many patients avoid surgery altogether.
Rebecca has worked alongside Aptiva Health's Director of Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, Dr. J. Steve Smith, for years, and is deeply familiar with his surgical protocols, his approach to patient care, and the recovery process his patients follow.

Rebecca's Approach to Patient Care
Rebecca brings advanced clinical expertise together with a genuinely compassionate, patient-centered approach. She believes patients do best when they understand their condition and their options, so she invests the time to educate every patient — explaining what the diagnosis means, what the treatment choices are, and what to expect at each stage of recovery. Whether a patient is an athlete eager to return to their sport or someone weighing knee or shoulder replacement, Rebecca's goal is the same: a clear plan, the least-invasive treatment that will work, and a patient who feels informed and supported throughout.
