About Dr. Chunduri
Dr. Jaideep Chunduri has been performing spine surgery in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region for more than two decades. He is recognized across the tri-state area for his work building, leading, and advancing orthopedic spine surgery programs at some of the region's most prominent institutions.
He served as Director of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at TriHealth in Cincinnati from January 2022 through June 2023, leading orthopedic spine care at one of the largest hospital systems in Greater Cincinnati. Earlier in his career, he was a founding orthopedic spine surgeon at Beacon Orthopedics, the largest orthopedic group in Greater Cincinnati, and the first orthopedic spine surgeon to join the practice. He served as Director of the Beacon Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation from September 2010 through June 2023, leading research and surgeon-education initiatives that trained other practicing spine surgeons across the region.
Dr. Chunduri also helped build the spine surgery program at TriHealth's Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, contributing to the development of one of Greater Cincinnati's most prominent hospital-based spine programs.
He completed his spine surgery fellowship at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) in Van Nuys, California, an internationally recognized orthopedic institution. His orthopedic surgery residency was at Henry Ford Health Sciences Center in Detroit, and he earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Indiana — making him one of the few spine surgeons in the region able to seamlessly serve patients across state lines.
He has held consulting roles with major spine hardware manufacturers since 2007, advising on device design and surgical technique, and serves as a Medical Legal Consultant working with attorneys, employers, and insurance carriers on spine injury cases.
In July 2024 he joined Aptiva Health as an orthopedic spine surgeon, bringing the depth of his Cincinnati and tri-state experience to Aptiva's patients across Northern Kentucky and, beginning May 21, 2026, Indianapolis.

Spine Care Across Three States
Most spine surgeons practice in one city. Dr. Chunduri practices across three. Aptiva Health's footprint and his dual Kentucky and Indiana licensure mean patients can be seen close to home — whether they live in Boone County, Kenton County, southern Indiana, the Indianapolis metro, or the Cincinnati region.
He treats patients on insurance, on workers' compensation in both Kentucky and Indiana, after auto accidents, on attorney lien arrangements, and on cash-pay terms. For workers' comp adjusters and case managers, his cross-state licensure and Medical Legal Consultant background mean a single provider can manage cases that move between the two states without re-referral.
For patients in the Cincinnati region, the Aptiva Northern Kentucky office in Hebron is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati — closer for many west-side and southside Cincinnati patients than several Cincinnati-based hospital systems, with the convenience of an outpatient clinic environment instead of a hospital one.
For patients in the Indianapolis metro, Dr. Chunduri begins seeing patients at Aptiva Health Indianapolis on May 21, 2026 — bringing his Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky depth of experience to a market that has historically had limited multi-specialty outpatient spine options.
Surgical Approach
A consistent theme in Dr. Chunduri's practice is the right surgery for the right patient — and no surgery for patients who don't need it. Spine surgery is a powerful tool when the diagnosis warrants it, but most patients with back and neck pain don't need surgery, and the conservative-first approach (physical therapy, interventional pain procedures, activity modification, time) resolves a majority of spine complaints.
When surgery is the right answer, Dr. Chunduri's experience covers the full range of cervical and lumbar procedures — from minimally invasive microdiscectomy and disc replacement through complex multi-level fusion and revision surgery. His work with spine hardware manufacturers since 2007 has kept him at the leading edge of new technology adoption, and his teaching and research roles at Beacon's research foundation have included training other spine surgeons in current technique.
He performs surgery at hospitals and surgical centers throughout the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Indianapolis regions, depending on the patient's location and procedure.

How to Schedule a Consultation
Most patients see Dr. Chunduri after persistent neck or back pain that hasn't responded to physical therapy, after a workers' compensation injury or auto accident, for a second opinion before considering spine surgery, or because they were referred by a primary care physician, chiropractor, or interventional pain physician.
A first consultation includes a full history of the symptoms and any prior treatment, a physical examination, review of any prior imaging (or new imaging if needed — Aptiva offers same-day imaging at multiple locations), and an honest discussion of options. Patient Testimonials
“I am dealing with a life altering back injury and needles to say the search for the right care has been exhausting. Until I was eventually referred to Aptivas Dr.Chunduri. This place has eased my mind. Every person I have encountered there have been nothing but helpful. Jen, Chris, and Megan sets the tone as genuinely caring, professional individuals. It made me feel like focus is on me and what I have going on. This is priceless in my troubling time. Dr. Chunduri explained in detail what I have going on and how we are going to move to treat me. I was not rushed it truly felt like I was the only patient there. Not to mention they are affordable compared to the huge monopoly hospitals in the area I will be paying a small fraction of what I was expecting. Thank you Aptiva for easing my mind.”
“Originally Dr. Chunduri was my second opinion but after meeting with him and going over the MRI and discussing all the options it was very clear he was the only one I was going to trust with a spinal fusion. After recovering and working hard to get back to living a normal life I ended up back in his office 6 years later for a consultation on two other vertebrae that needed to be fused. Once again he took lots of time to answer all my questions and helped me understand what to expect. His staff has always been professional and kind. I highly recommend Dr Chunduri to anyone who is having back pain. There is no one size fits all approach and Dr Chunduri gets that and treats each case with care, respect and the attention to detail you want in a doctor who is operating on your spine.”
“The staff here has been great and very helpful and kind during my visits. I cannot say enough good about Dr. Chunduri other than his spinal expertise is superb. He explained in detail all of my options regarding my debilitating condition. I elected for surgery due to this procedure being more permanent than other options. He scheduled and quickly got me in for the outpatient procedure. I had very, very little pain post surgery. I would call it discomfort more than pain. Instant relief. I’m two weeks post surgery today and feeling great. Dr. Chunduri is what I believe every doctor should be. He is very patient, explains things well, has a great personality, and is a superior surgeon with decades of experience. He will def be my spine doctor in the future if the need arises. Thank you Dr. Chunduri. You gave me my life back...literally.”
“Dr. Chunduri was very thorough in his review of the MRI with me. He took the time to explain the procedure he wanted to implement and was very optimistic that my recovery would be within 6 to 7 weeks. I would recommend him to my family and friends.”
“Dr. Chunduri performed a TLIF on my lower back in 2021. I had an excellent experience with him, his staff, and the Spine Center at Christ Hospital. All my appointments were scheduled and performed in a timely manner and my surgery was a great success. I feel completely back to normal and able to do all the things I could do before my injury. I’m very happy with my care.”
